Mark Potter: "Diving in Fiji"

Fiji is the soft coral capital of the world, they are so colorful and vibrant. The reefs offer spectacular, healthy hard and soft corals and abundant fish life. During the shark dive divers saw lemon, reef, bull, and tiger sharks. Divers go to Fiji not just for great diving, but to meet the amazing friendly people there. Are you interested in learning about Fiji? How to get there, popular dive resorts, and see some awesome underwater photos? Join Mark Potter for his Dive Fiji presentation at the August dive club meeting. He has been to Fiji 15 times and he’s excited to go back with a group in April 2025.

Mark Potter has been diving since 1980 and became a PADI instructor in 1986. He founded MASS Diving in 1988 and ran the full-service dive shop for 35 years, until 2023. He still operates MASS Diving in a limited capacity, offering warm water group trips. Mark is the USA sales rep for the Manthiri liveaboard in the Maldives. His favorite local places to dive are Saturday Night Ledge, Dry Salvages and Halfway Rock. His favorite exotic places are the Maldives, Fiji, Philippines and Cuba. Mark’s future plans, as a group trip leader, are to take people to exotic places and to enjoy the underwater world and above water experiences with them.

Please join us for the MetroWest Dive Club's General Meeting for the presentation.

Mission

The MetroWest Dive Club (MWDC) is dedicated to promoting fun, safe diving, and introducing and familiarizing members with new dive sites. We are committed to encouraging good relations with our coastal neighbors through courtesy and good diving etiquette, and getting involved with community activities.

The MWDC is not affiliated with any retailer, vendor, or manufacturers. We are a large group of sport divers with a wide range of scuba diving interests. Club members can help direct you to the many training classes locally available.

Diving in New England

What is it like to dive New England?

The video below tries to convey a sense of what diving in New England is like; cold water, low vis, and great wildlife. It was produced by William Skelly and the underwater photos in it were taken over the course of five years by Steve Bigelow, Steven Jaques, Robert Landy, and Bobby Joe. (Video subtitles are available.)

iDive New England is the ultimate SCUBA community resource for diving in New England, where you can find dive site info, charter boats, local clubs and shops, regulations and much more. Click on the logo to access it.
